See you on the next high tide

What is Tidal Balas?

Tidal Balas is a culturally grounded Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) program for Indigenous men.

This is Marcus Pedro’s story, and it is his SEWB journey of struggles, challenges, and hardships that inspired him to create this program to help and support other Balas in our communities.

Like the tides, we rise and fall — but we always return stronger.

Why Tidal Balas?

Back home in the Torres Strait, and around the Country, many of our men, young and old, are losing their way in society. Tidal Bala's was created to change that — by sharing real stories, cultural wisdom, and practical tools for healing.

This program is about Balahood:

walking together as Balas, creating strength for ourselves, our families, and our communities.

The vision

When the winds and the tide move together,
