About Marcus

I’m Marcus Pedro, a proud Torres Strait Islander from St Paul’s Village on Moa Island, born into the Wagadagam Tribe, with the dugong, shovel-nose shark, and crocodile as my totems.

A proud Torres Strait Islander, motivational speaker, former Queensland Police Officer, Kung Fu Black Belt/Sash, 40-year veteran DJ, and co-author of Three Warriors Within. The first Torres Strait Islander, to be a Professional DJ, The first Torres Strait Islander, going from being a Community Policeman, to a fully fledged Constable of Police, in the Queensland Police Service. From not being able to read and write properly until my late 20s to inspiring thousands of students across the nation, I now use my story to empower young people and corporate organisation to rise through challenges and unlock their full potential.

My Mess now becomes my Mess-age, to motivate, inspire, and empower students, youth, and corporate organisation in Australia, the Pacific, and in PNG.

My roots instilled in me a deep connection to country, culture, and community, but my early life was anything but confident. After high school, I struggle with low self confidence, low self esteem, and low self belief. I use racism as an excuse to get out of work/Training, because I failed TAFE College.
